Friends Of The Choir

The Dayton Boys Choir is committed to making sure that any boy between the ages of 8 and 18, who has the talent and is interested in learning to perform as a part of the Dayton Boys Choir is able to do so.

We rely on funding from tuition, grants and foundations and support of friends of the choir. As we continue to build and grow the choir, and share our talented boys with people everywhere, we are looking for support from people who would like to be friends of the choir.

We hold fifteen to twenty performances annually. We also take a tour annually. Last year, our tour took us to Niagara Falls, where we performed in Canada, Toledo and other places along the way. We are hoping to find people who share our love of music and enjoy the boys who are willing to help us out with the costs associated with the operations of the choir.

We are a non- profit 501 C (3) organization, so any donation you make will be tax-deductible. We will list you as a Friend of the Choir in our annual program book. We also, in exchange for your contribution, send you a voucher for “buy one, get one free” admission to our Spring Concert in May at the Victoria Theater.

What we do with the boys?
The costs of putting the boys on stage, in concert attire, include the following: salaries for part- time staff, rental of equipment, tuxedos, choir robes, purchasing of sheet music, travel and tour expenses. We also conduct an annual summer camp that exposes the boys to lessons from additional guest clinicians, as well as theory lessons and teaching them to read music. We cannot do these things without support from people and organizations throughout the Miami Valley.

Please let us know about any boys who might be interested. If you have a son, nephew, grandson, neighbor who may not know about The Dayton Boys Choir, please let them know about us. We invite all boys who want to join us to audition! All boys who love to sing and are talented are welcomed.
